Red, white and blue can be very, very effective for crappie. They love red and white, and blue and white around here. Red, white and blue is two great color schemes in one.

    Don't worry, catch crappie.

How'd I know that was coming? LOL I use variations of Chartreuse or green 80% of the time. Most of the waters I fish are stained or muddy. Plus I aint gonna order some new chenile and Kiptail or craftfur just to tie a dozen. I am a firm believer of the order of strike inducing elements are, Depth; Speed & Action; Color....So you see color isnt my first thing to change when fishing is tough. I do believe every color of the rainbow will catch crappie, but if your not in the strike zone your not getting a bite.

I just posted it because you said red, white and blue didn't seem to be a good color choice for fish and I wanted to point out it actually is a solid choice. I usually reach for chart/black or chart/pink first, but if neither of those are working, I will switch to white with another color. Usually blue or gray to imitate a minnow.

Before you ask why I don't just use live minnows, it's because they're not allowed here.
    Don't worry, catch crappie.
