    Default New to crappie fishing

Hello all! I’m only a couple years into crappie fishing. I really like to jig structure. My question is where I normally fish at the water is way clear. Curious in good ways to fish crystal clear water ? Thanks for any tips or advice

From a distance. They can be spooky in clear water.

Bobber and minnow would be a great presentation. I like to have the line weighted such that it doesn't take a lot to pull the bobber down. That way they done feel the bobber

From a distance for sure. A good 10 or 11 foot rod should suffice.

I do have a 11 foot ACC rod. I’m still learning a friend of mine got me started on wanting to catch crappie. It’s addictive and like learning the new challenges

These folks said it best. I bobber fish when I get clear water which is rare here as I'm fishing the Mississippi River. But a bobber and jig works well even in stained water. I like a 3/8 inch pencil slip bobber but it is not the only way. 90% of my Rathbun fishing is dun this way. It's pretty well stained most of the time. Welcome to the site.

On the bobber I prefer the weighted version only beause I can cast it farther out there.
