Great day of fishing on Rathbun. Started out up in Honey creek. Fished dead willows 8 to 12 foot of water. Fishing Bobby Garland Baby Shad was ticket. Although numbers werent what they had been the quality was better.Fish wanted it sitting still. 6 down to a foot off the bottom. Had 5 over 14 and lost a legit 2 pounder at the boat that was a 16 incher for sure. The 14 weighed 1 /6 to 1/8 and numerous small dinks. Didn have the 100 plus fish we had a month ago but I will take quality over quantity any day. Had lunch at Bridegview Bait and headed up the lake on a tip. All we managed were dinks but didnt make it as far up the lake as I wanted before we pullled the plug.Guys the fish are there you just have to go out and find them. I dont have pics but do have a couple on my phone if you dont believe me send me your phone number, or ask Don at Bridgeview he confirm. PJ

Thanks cory!!! got off work at 130 am today slept 2.5 hours went to the lake put in at atwells caught 4 14" fish 3 more 12.5" to 13" and 10 more round 10" all with minnows on a plain jig head. Fish started out about 8' to 10' in 16' but had to move in about 10am to where the brush met the bottom @ 13' and fished 1' off needless to say that caused several lost fish in the heavy brush. one of the 14" fish was a 2 minute yo-yo session 10' down and i got lucky. the big ones seemed to be buried in it and would hit while you were shaking off limbs. all within 200 yards of the ramp.
