    Default Missy update

To the four or five guys still alive fishing and posting on this forum; here's the update. Water was slightly muddy to heavy stained, temp was round the 50* mark give or take a few degrees, water level a little to high but coming down. Not a soul out this morning, but it was Easter morning. No fish today. Drier weather and warmer temps should improve condition. I'd ask if anyone has been out yet but , well I know how this works. Carry on.

Thanks for the update. Was planning missy for Saturday but looks like rain and from the sounds of it it doesn’t need any more rain.

I was out yesterday afternoon. I tried 3 spots east of 13. Caught 3 white bass no crappie. Tried spillway on way home and caught 10 to 15, only a handful had any size. Really hoping this warm sunny week gets things going. I have not done well at Missy since last may. I fished the resi this past fall and winter and struggled as well. Very unusual. Hope it picks up i need crappie fillets i am fresh out.

I hear you, I plan to go back out thursday after a few more warm days. Hope the water clears up too. Looks like a little rain Sat. then a cold front moves in, highs in low 50's next week.

Let us know how you do if you go on Thursday. Thinking about heading over Saturday morning.

Got out after work this evening. Headed up river east of 13 aways. Pulled in and seen 6 cars already there. Seemed like they were all fishing one particular bend. I went the other direction . I found some fish in one area, mix of white bass and crappie. Missed on a bunch of bites with the wind crearing slack in my line. Caught them on bobber and jig and then later on got some casting and retrieving a twister. I kept a dozen crappie 10 to 12 inchers. Ill be back out tomorrow with my buddy.

Got out this morning, river had cleared up a little and came down a little. Took a while to find them but had a semi steady bite, with a lot of down time in between. I took home 13 crappie most in the 10" range be a few 11 and 12 inchers. Seems like a lot of smaller fish this year. Had some white bass mixed in , but hit and miss, mostly small ones. Rain and big cold front after Sunday, not sure what it will do for the bite. Carry on.

Hit same area last evening just a different spot. Did a lot of walking and did not find much. 2 guys were in the spot i wanted to fish. Ended up waitin it out and they left with about 45 minutes left of daylight. Kept 10 nice ones and caught some smaller ones and also some white bass. Think i will fish opposite side of river this evening. Less people and better slack areas.
