Crickets
Friday 4/7 my buddy and I limited out on Freeman. Figured I’d give an update because it seems like leading up to spawn or even in the winter a lot of guys are searching for information on here to help them for when the time comes but, when that day does come and all the tips and tricks and equipment have been talked about into sometimes painful detail. It’s crickets! Nothing but tight lips about what the fish are doing, what the water is doing and certainly no mention of body of water. I like to say it this way, “I can tell you when, where and how i caught fish. You still gotta catch them” so here we go. Completely new body of water for my old buddy and I, 2 hours without a fish, finally put things together enough to pull 50 keepers out in about 3 hours ( some were a little small but I won’t throw back a badly hooked fish to replace it with a bigger one. Those fish were not going to live) in 4 foot of water and the females are starting their egg production. Water was clearer than I expected but that was easy. The fish wanted a bigger bait than I expected but, that was easy too. Bottom line, get your boats out! Happy Hooking!

It the closest lake to me but I don't fish it much. I always seem to struggle there to find them. I am heading up this evening so we'll see.

Quick update, fished again Friday with my son and we left with 31 keepers. Could have stayed for the limit but got very tired of sorting through short fish. Probably threw back a limit of fish under 8 inches. Don’t know where the decent fish were but I was done looking for them. Happy Hooken!
