    Question Crappie Lakes w Resorts?

    Howdy Neighbors.

I'm trying to gather some information about Lakes in Indiana. Specifically for Crappie Fishing. Would prefer Lakes with Cabins, Resorts, or campground with cabins on the water. Docks at the site would be preferred. I'm the only one in the group that has a camper. The rest would prefer a cabin or resort type setting. Nothing fancy, this is a fishing trip.

Bunch of Marine Corps brothers and I gather at least once per year. We are looking for someplace centrally located. Raccoon Lake or a north of Indy would be ideal. We have members coming from Wisconsin, Michigan, Tennesse, and Illinois. Might be able to get a few more if we move the event from Illinois to another state. We all Illinois has major issues.

We used to gather on the Marine Corp birthday and celebrate. However, some of them don't like fishing November 10th in 30+ degree temps. So, we settled on September/October time frame.

I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.

I don't know of any in the mid way part of the state down to the south. Your best bet would be to look at close by or lakefront Air BnB. But if you want an honest opinion, I'd go a little further south and catch better fish on better managed waters in KY or TN if that is your driving range.

There's nothing on Raccoon I would recommend. Patoka has some good places to stay just not sure about the fishing. I sure wish it would come back around to some decent size fish.

    Thanks for the feedback.
If it helps, we don't mind average sized Crappie being 9-10" in size. They make good eaters.

Monroe - 4 Winds Resort and Marina.
    Thanks I'll research them both.

FYI- our standards for accommodations are pretty low. After all, we spent alot of time sleeping on dirt, rock, sand, etc. We don't care if there are bedrooms, open floor layout is perfect. It'll reminds us of the old squad bays.

Patoka has mostly really small crappie… It’s a beautiful lake and there a lot of crappie in it, they’re just really small. Plus, there’s a few resorts/cabins on the water, sort of. Patoka 4 seasons has a lot of cabins and are nice, but no ramp or docks that I know of. French lick cabins at Patoka lake are nice too and they have ramp nearly on the property. Nothing that I know of with docks on the lake besides the 2 marinas which have floating cabins and houseboats that you can rent.
