Default Trolling Cranks Missisinewa last Saturday

Trolled crankbaits around Missy with my Dad last Saturday morning. If we had been in a Drum tournament we would have been doing good. We did not catch a single crappie!

What the heck? That kind of surprises me. I wonder if they are deeper right now? I saw a report some were catching them 12' to 20' right on the bottom.

Are you using any electronics.? One,,,I would search for a thermocline,,,and fish right above it. Two,,,use electronics to find baitballs and you will find fish. I also would try creek channels and edges of structure if you can see it in electronics.

Best advise you can get. The fish are out there chasing shad and are right above the thermocline. Try fishing a 300 Bandit with 150 ft of 10 lb. mono line out behind the boat. You need to get the baits down to around 20 ft or so. it depends on where the thermocline is located. The fish will be out over the deeper drop off and creek channels.

Turn your sensitivity up on your depth finder till you see a thermocline.

I have a Garmin echomap 93sv. I wouldn't say I am very good at using it. I use it mostly to know my depth and speed. Any suggestions on how to find the thermocline?

Turn your sensitivity up and play with turning your gain down alittle.
