I got my rod holder bar mounted today. I made it easy removable. My rod holders will bolt on top of this & be able to slid anywhere on the bar. Name: 20220605_124351.jpg

I too am going to try and do some pulling but probably more beetlespins and curly tail jigs to start and I have 3 rodholders on back of my toon and will put two more on outsides and that's enough to start. But still I am a single pole jigger who lives for the thump primarily and can still jig the docks and have success so we shall see.

Bymo and I have pulled cranks a few times with some success on his last boat but it wasn't my favorite way o ketchn.

But have seen the incredible success robbie and his dad have had at Mark twain and how they were rigged so it is out there for us to pursue.

I am pretty much a handyman so I am trying to keep cost down & building me own rod holders. I ordered a few pico cranks to get started. I'm wondering how I tell what speed I need to be going to pulling these & how much line I want out. I know locally Cevans seems to be a pro at this. I know this can get expensive to get into but what can't these days. Thanks for any help.

Like yourself I am also about to venture into pushing cranks for crappies. And like yourself, I’ve always enjoyed Working a jig for them while drifting. You and I are fortunate to have knowledgeable anglers a.k.a. crappie specialist, share their information with us. A willingness to share knowledge is The true measure of what constitutes being a great fisherman, IMHO. If you wanna learn anything about crappie fishing this website has no equal where educational value is concerned.

Have a big pair of forceps or long nose pliers handy, so you can get the hooks out quick and get back to watching rods !!

If you're fishing a lake where 2lb fish are common, a long handled net with rubberized netting sure comes in handy.
