Default Dang Hot! Limit plus 2

Unusual Hot weather has water temp when I got off the lake at 11 am after 3.5 hrs of fishing lake Lemon was 73.5. Females not ready as I had a limit of crappie from 10” to 14” and bonus 2 yellow perch, one 8” and other 10”. Only one crappie was a male, 4-5 females had eggs about ready to spawn,,one 12” female had spawned, the rest all females and no way ready, Trolling speed was 1.5 to 1.8” with cranks running 1 to 2’ off the bottom in 10 to 12’ lake depth. Best colors were Chrome Clown, Purple Spatterback, Bone Orange and Blue Boogie PICOS. and Must have caught 80-90 fish as it was crazy with 2 sometimes all 3 rods going off when I would see and run thru fish on Mega Live and SI. My mega 360 is at HB for repair so should have it back by Monday. Wind was only super light breeze of no more than 4 mph making it hot as all get out in a blue sky full sun. I released a ton of 9 to all most 10” fish as well as other small crappie. Quite a few boats out,,but not hardly any fishing out in the middle of the lake and open bays as most are pounding the banks and docks and to me,,that is their mistake as only catching dinks on the banks when it comes to fishing Lemon. Keep on fishing!

I wish I had more experience with yellow perch and how to target them. I can catch them fairly easy on Erie, but nowhere else. Probably my favorite fresh water fish to fry up.

There is a lot of yellow perch in Lemon. When J R a guide Service was in business, he could catch a cooler full. I think if you would locate them you will find a school and can hammer away. I saw them on the electronics, and it’s crazy to see a little fish attack a crankbait as big as the crankbait is. You catch them in Lemon out in the middle near the creek channel a lot. I went thru this school twice this morning.

    Default Good report and detailed.

Great report. I would let them continue pounding the banks. ha ha. What they don't know will help you catch more fish. I suggest getting a big umbrella to keep you in the shade.

I have them,,just need to stick them in the boat! This heat wave is alittle wicked. We went from cool spring weather to extreme heat and humidity. The humidity is extremely high as much as 80’s-90’s, with the dew point above 60 also. Add a very light breeze,,,,and your saturated in heat.
