    Default Central Indiana Reports

Snuck out Saturday with good friend and our two boys. Found a just a couple at quick creek, shut down once it got cold, well except for the pair of stripers that decided to make their debut.

Sunday went to cat lake (2nd trip there) with the boy. Got bit while still getting lines put out and then a couple minutes later when I thought to duplicate the pause...it was going to be another banner day so I thought. Two more over next 3 hours with bluebird skies overhead...ah darn. Maybe this is that one last trip out. But then switched up and went to other end of the lake and found a hole. Picked up 16 more in about an hour or so. Met a couple nice folks on the way out at dusk. Ended up cleaning 19 from 9-11 inches.

Been pulling bandits and flicker shad for last two months, is this a year round tactic or did I just lick into something good? Just picked up new boat in August and have been hitting it hard.

Recently? I may have located one of them for you. Describe it and it's yours.

Sounds like I'm gonna need to dredge by the campground j/k. Nope not one of those. It's a bass pole with some fairly unique markings.

Only was able to coax two in the boat yesterday at hardy lake. Saw a large school on the way out ... Apparently the striped varsity but fun to catch anyways. I think I'll keep going til I get skunked....getting closer. Tried following some back roads google directions and holy hell one don't do that again...road in complete disrepair.

Never rely on your maps or WAZE if you have these in your phones or iPads. We have 2 dead end county roads that when the gravel runs out…turns to pure mud 4 wheel drive lanes that eventually dead end against the Crane Weapons Naval Depot here in southwestern Indiana. Twice in past 2 yrs, a 24’ box truck driver and a semi trucker with 40’ trailer have tried to make deliveries to Crane using these roads. You would think as the road width gets smaller,,and you quit seeing any gravel your driving on,,then come up to a turn that is a wallowed out 3’ deep mud hole, they wouldn’t try and drive these big rigs down these trails. It took the 2 largest wreckers for semis to get them out and that had to really be expensive,,then they have to back down a couple miles of narrow goat path before getting out on a county road they can turn around on. Stupid is, stupid does! After all this rain,,,these are now only driven by ATV’s and SUV’s the rest of deer season.
