No sign of them in our area YET.
Ok. Had enough! Tons of Cicadas flying every direction across the yard. Have to keep garage doors closed even. Dogs hesitant going out to pee due to high pitched noise as it’s effecting their ears. Noise can now be heard from inside house even tho windows closed and house is very sealed quiet. Noise level is highest ever now and I don’t think we have peaked as we just recieved 2.7” of rain,,ground is soft….they are coming up everywhere. Dang things last 6 weeks and will have to put up with them till as late as mid July! I think everybody needs to eat some to keep them from breeding.

Wife’s nephew runs a lawn and landscape service and has a lot of houses to mow and take care of around Lake Lemon. He is seeing fish jump out of the muddy water feeding on cicadas and a few boats fishing that are not catching anything. He occassionally fishes Lemon but said it’s too muddy and debri everywhere this morning for him. Cicadas around Lake Lemon and Bloomington are super heavy.

Definitely sounds rough.
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
they have gotten really loud here last couple days since rain, can hear inside house also..can see them flying around up in trees and occasionally landing on deck.
Keep them up there.
Not here around my house yet.

really loud today and tons more of their shells on deck and around yard, as Cevans said I think they are just now getting going good.
We fished a little lake south of Vernon at Crosley yesterday. Lake was surrounded by trees which were full of cicadas. Fish, snakes, turtles and even bull frogs were feasting as the cicadas hit the water.
We still caught enough to entertain us for a few hours sitting under a shade tree and out of the heat.
buddy fished a local lake today using cicadas and caught/kept 63 bluegill.
We were experiencing an emergence many years ago and went fishing and saw millions of them floating on the water and nothing was eating them. Maybe they were full from gorging.
Maybe they will bite this one……
