    Default Lemon Sunday 5/2

I keep from fishing Lemon on weekends cause it will get to be a zoo like all the rest of our lakes but the water for next 3-4 days is predicting rain and possible thunderstorms. Launched at 7:30,,fished till 11:30..saw 2 kids on a tube pulled by locals at 9..jet skier for a hour starting at 10, a dozen sail boats in a sailing contest of sorts taking the main lake over at 10:30am. Spending 20 minutes trying to take out as one old dude with a Ranger boat trying to launch by himself blocked the ramp for 20 minutes trying to launch..it can be Caddie Shack and will get worse as we get closer to Memorial Day weekend. Through the week is way heck better to fish this lake. Trolling speed was 1.6 to 1.8 mph,,water temp was 64. Mid lake you could see the faint stain line,,but water color was stained green full of pollen messing with a clear pick sometimes on the electronics...other areas of the lake would be picture perfect. Started out with Crome Clown,,had replace it as too many little fish were hammering it..3 best colors of cranks today was PICO Blue Boogie, Fire Tiger and a orange bone,,O Jay, kept 25,,,all females again ,,,,coming from deep water way out from the banks..10 to anywhere in creek channel of 16-18’ deep...caught way more small crappie today,,culled them from 11 to 15” but had to keep a half dozen 10” and one 9” as they swallowed the treble hooks. I was running the cranks about a foot to 2 ft off the bottoms and had the main lake all but to myself as everybody else was pounding the banks and docks. Get out and fish as the fishing is good as it gets right now.

Only thing I hate about PICO’s is their hooks are so friggin sharp. My fingers feel like pin cushions from getting stuck so many times removing from the fish!

I also caught one small yellow bass yesterday for the first ice in a couple of years. Don’t throw them back in the lake. Kill them or throw them on the bank.
