Back in the fall and early winter the wife and I had a blast catching Crappie off the docks at Paynestown but we have had no luck on the warmer days this year.
I'm sure our technique was not up to snuff we had no "detectable" bites.
Saturday it is suppose to hit 75 degrees, we want to go fishing but wonder if it's worth the hour drive to Monroe or if we should look to more lakes with shallow waters available.
We love just getting out, we don't have to catch fish but we would like to.
The docks at Paynestown close for fishing on May 1. My wife has vacation in late April. Do any of you think we might have better luck on those docks by then?
Alan
I would think the crappie are moving to the shallows in April especially with the lake is up. Right now with Monroe up 6.8’ over summer pool,,,and colder water,,hard to say where the fish are just yet. But,,as the water warms,,and spring time, fish will be heading to cover in high water. That seems to be the pattern every spring. Just have to fish the docks and take your chances.
