When water is in the 30’s temp, sometimes ice fishing techniques pays off. Ever stand a hole you have drilled in the ice and just picked up the rod a few inches, let the bobber drop back into the hole and rest? A very mild presentation in extreme cold water might be the only way to entice a bite sometimes even tho,,your fishing out of a boat in open water with no ice and it’s colder as heck out. A lot of guys in the winter tip their jigs with mousies and bee moths fishing this time of the year also.

Also take into consideration the temperature of the water during the winter,,,,,.the warmer water is going to be closer to the bottom,,,a lot warmer,,than your surface temp of the water.

Went to Lemon today, brrrr! Fish were in 17-18’ water suspended between 15’ and the bottom. Caught a few, all small, no keepers. Was only there for a couple hours, apart from a couple duck hunters I was the only crazy one out.

Glad you got out and caught a few. Lemon takes alittle searching and fishing. Its 1700 acres in size. Bigger fish are there.
