    Default Nice Crappie at Monroe

My wife and I have caught crappie off the docks the the past 2 weeks.
Yesterday we caught about 30, all shorts except one slab and we had a blast.
We fished with jigs and tubes for the first time and we were impressed with our results.

We saw some nice hauls coming in, nice size crappie but those aren't what we caught.

We had such fun and plan to go back this next weekend.

They catch nice fish off the docks even when it’s iced over. Check it out this winter.

You know I think you may be right. We have never had confidence in artificial and my wife less than me.
We always headed to whatever fishing hole with a box of redworms and another of crawlers.
This summer it got to where we were catching nothing, lucky to get a bite.

So we got to the point of deciding do we want to keep fishing with no results or try jigs.
Well we tried jigs and a new place and as my intro says we had a blast.
My wife fished two poles, one with a yellow Crappie killer and one with a 1/16 jig and a purplish tube.
I fished with a yellow and orange 1/16 jig head with a chartreuse and black tube. We both caught about equal amounts.

I am past retirement age but still working, my wife is getting close.
Fishing is our only hobby and we are thrilled with our recent success.

I fish off the docks at my condo all the time and often get nothing but dinks and still have a ball. it's not always about ketch keepers but simply the thumps and ketchn something! have faith in your new bait as jigs are the way to go as you don't have to fool with live bait and you'll ketch just as many or more as you said it's all about confidence. My wife is the same wants bait and mostly worms but then sitting by the dock of the bay in the shade just hanging out she caught the monster crappie just dangling one of my jigs in the water! So now she uses jigs and is a believer. Heck I'm still trying to ketch one near as big as she has bragging rights on me!! LOL
