    Default Raccoon 10/28/20

On lake at 815 off 12, caught 47 total kept 26-30 started cleaning forgetting to count so did a quick body count. Fish started off slow caught buddy caught one 1st cast of the day then we caught maybe 6-7 next 2hrs.. kept moving and finally found them in one spot in 12-14 ft of water then another in 8ft.
The fish in 8ft of water were very aggressive, we probably caught 20-25 of that little spot..
Water temp 56.7-58 deg.. 1/32oz jigs with chart bodies.
It was freaking cold out there today, had 2 windproof jackets on and still like to froze but good day on the water, love in when the fish give you that thump. Had a few hit like a bass just grab and run with it.
A lot of boat traffic considering the day/weather, 18 trucks at main ramp and a few at Walker also.
Hopefully get a couple more days in but going to have to start deer hunting seriously bucks are up on their feet.

Great day for you. Had the desire to go but not the energy. Yes, the bucks are starting to prowl. Good report.

In a at least a 10 sq. Mile area this year, I have only seen a couple of Bambi’s as the surviving does didn’t get bred, it’s that bad here. It will take a few years to rebound as long as we don’t slaughter them this gun season. Bow hunters are having a very hard time of seeing anything. They just canceled the Handicap Hunt on Crane Weapons Base and locked it down again due to Covid 19. Thats 100 sq. miles big.

I’ve hunted this part of Indiana since 72 and it’s the worst I have ever seen.
