Raccoon 10/22/20
On water at 815 off at noon--25 seems to be our number, 15 kept by buddy.. water temp 60.5-61.5 deg
all fish except 2-3 caught on 1/32 oz jigs w/cart bodies, buddy caught others on minnow/bobber set about 9ft deep.
Fish caught from 3ft to 15 ft deep.. boat traffic was crazy at least 60-70 trucks in parking with ramp lined up to unload/load.. a guy launched a 35ft speed boat just as we were leaving, looked like what you see running coastlines, way too big for Raccoon. Bite for the most part was super light with a few really good thumps, wind was raising whitecaps when we left at noon.
As said before the fish are getting hammered.

Glad you got on the fish. I went to Lemon yesterday. Water temp 59-60. Gin clear, mirror calm without a ripple till breeze at 12:30 pm. Got off the lake at 1:00. Caught 2 10-11 inch fish, lost 2. Could not locate fish anywhere on SI, DI, and Mega 360. Fished from 5’ deep to about 20’ as Ave depth of Lemon is 10’. 8 others launched at 8 am, by takeout, 30 or so parked and more streaming to lake to launch. I did talk to others that hadn’t caught a fish. Quite difference in the 2 lakes as they are only maybe 60 miles apart as the crow flies. I never saw anyone catch a fish either. Electrical storm during the night and too calm water I think was the issue as you just need a ripple or more and we didn’t have it. At least I got to work the bugs out of my depth finders from previous updating as I hadn’t been on the water all summer. I was till 10 pm last night pulling and moving one transducer from the back to the front of the boat and now need to test again.

when we first got on lake it was dead calm and a little foggy, but after about half hr a breeze kicked up and got steadily stronger.. I agree crappie are hard to catch in dead calm conditions, prefer a slight chop to water.
My Helix 9 is supposed to be back from Humminbird today out for delivery, work report says they replaced the power head hoping that means they sent a new one. Either way should be like new.
If it means anything by this time last year had been out 19 times in boat and had caught 984 crappie, fished from bank at local pier and caught another thousand crappie thru summer..
this year have been out 21 times on boat and caught like 670 crappie, probably caught another 200 or so from bank/pier.
So the increased fishing pressure hurts fishing i think.
