Default Any Have Info on ELK CREEK LAKE near Salem

Thinking about Trying Elk Creek or Starve Hollow lake but have never been to either lake, will be fishing for Bluegills and Crappie. Any thoughts on where to start?

If you want an honest answer... I'd pass on both. Elk used to be a good redear lake, but was difficult to fish. It's been hammered for years mainly by Amish. Starve hollow this time of year will be choked with weeds I'd say over half the lake. I have buddies that catch a decent bass there every now and again.

So what small lakes or ponds haven't been hammered (over fished ) by the amish in southern Indiana ?

Sorry to say locator79 is right on the money, I used to work for DNR and those two lakes are beat up...unless you like scenery.

Almost all public lakes are pressured that I’m aware of, there are some that are overlooked but they too get good ole boy pressure.
