Default Fishing lake Monroe in a couple of weeks.

We are camping at Hardin Ridge on Lake Monroe in a couple of weeks. Bringing our Kayaks. I am fairly new to freshwater fishing, I am a saltwater transplant.
Putting in at Hardin Ridge or Crooked Creek ramps. What can I expect this time of year?
    Any tips are appreciated.

If you put in at Hardin Ridge and if you go on the main lake, your taking your life in your own hands, especially in a kayak. If at Cutright of which I think your calling it crooked creek,,,you will be fine. But! Expect especially on weekends, above normal boat traffic as the weekends have had to have DNR officers acting as traffic cops at the State Park Ramps as well as Cutright with little to no parking available so get there early. I’ve never seen it this bad ever until this year for boat traffic and kayaks on Monroe. Boat sales are up 75% nationwide. Rv and Motorcycle sales thru the roof, try and buy a decient bicycle in a bike shop as they are all but sold out. Fishing right now can be a pain as it’s hot and summertime but Monroe does have good fish in it. Good luck.

I Live on Monroe on Crooked creek, The lake leaves are just a tad over summer pool. Crooked creek ramp is shallow ....kayaks will be Okay, but expect 1 ft to 2 feet depths all over. Cevans is speaking truth on the cutright and other ramp locations. These shallows tied in with summer fishing patterns is tough. Good luck in your adventures.

Drove over the dam yesterday at noon, very few parking spots left,,tons of boats, all sizes anchored in front of dam with everybody in/out the water. Payntown had traffic backed up,just trying to get on 446, Going across causeway, it was Caddy Shack 3 and only parking available at Cutright was when someone pulled out to leave or the option to park at High Water Parking lot Launch as there were 8 trailers/vehicles parked there. Most of the picnic tables where the tourney ps have weigh ins the public had carried down to the edge of the lake and were using with people swimming everywhere. There were 3 parking places at Pine Grove launch but as we drove out,,met 2 vehicles,,with watercraft,,,,so it was about filled up at 2 pm. Lake is heavy hammered.

People want out, can't blame any of them but they have to be courteous during these times.

I’m just gonna buy some Roman candles and start shooting great balls of Fire at any jet skier or pleasureboater that wants to run by me. Let’s light em up!
