    Default Raccoon

got on lake at daylight and only caught 10 by 1130, water temp 84 deg. Caught on jigs in 17-37 ft of water most 12-15ft down and bite was very very light(Monkey Milk was the color they wanted), wouldnt hit them if you were reeling just wanted it sinking down thru them, probably missed at least 20, hooked up to 3-4 more that came off right after being hooked..
All I can say about the boaters on the lake is they are a bunch of idiots, had a guy/wife come back in a cove toward us running 50mph at least and bank hard at about 40yds or less and the wake shoved us up into bank..
I called him every name I could think of which I doubt if he heard me but made me feel better, then he went back out in main lake cut across bow of pontoon and almost hit them..
This was at 11am we left at 1130, no courtesy at all on the lake and no CO`s around when they need to be.

Thanks for report!! I cant believe somebody has not been seriously hurt down there. It's out of control. Glad you got a chance to catch some though.

Get the guys boat number if you can and also,,take a pic if possible next time and give it to dnr. I think that is the best you can do if at all possible.

These days almost everyone has a smartphone and most of them can take video.

to be honest didn't have time, he came in so fast and was gone all I had time to do was scream a few expletives at him.. no way my pontoon would catch up with him either.
I called the sheriff once last year when guys were running 40/50mph up the idle zone about swamping people, sheriff contacted DNR while I was on phone with them and they said they didnt have anyone on duty, funny I thought CO`s were always on duty.

My opinion there should be someone patrolling raccoon almost every weekend. They used to have a boat docked there. If they would patrol these reservoirs more this nonsense would stop.

during this Covid crap they should have someone there every day as its busy like weekends almost everyday now.. they still have a boat there or they did last time I looked not sure if it was there the other day though.
It will take someone getting hurt or killed for them to step up patrols, its not like hunting season is in, fishing/boating is where they should be concentrating their patrols. Close to half the people(recreational boaters) boating on Raccoon can almost be guaranteed to be above the legal limit of alcohol by end of the day.
