Default Looking for a place to go in June

Hey All, it looks like my annual fishing trip to Canada in June will not happen. I don't think the border is going to be open by then. Going to Canada is about the only time during the year I fish for smallmouth and Walleye. I'm thinking about looking for another destination but realize it's going to be tough to get in somewhere at this late point. I was thinking I may just stick to Crappie. Anyone have any suggestions for somewhere possibly in northern Wisconsin or somewhere else. Would prefer a lake that is not too busy and rough. My boat is small.

I haven't been up there in a few years. Not sure how far you want to travel. We used to go up to Chetek, Wisconsin it is a chain of lakes that are not real big. Used to be pretty good fishing. Just an idea.

The Chetek chain is very good and can be fished from a smaller boat. Crappie, bass, some walleye and northerns. Might check I tried to book there a couple of months ago and couldn't find an opening. Covid may have freed up some rooms.

There is plenty of lakes in Michigan with smallmouth...MInnesota has a ton of lakes bordering Canada but not sure if those states will allow travel..Norris Lake in Tenn,,I used to fish it for big smallmouth around the new moon in June prespawn feeding heavy. Gin clear tho and haven’t fished it in years and it’s a pure mountain type lake outside of the north of Knoxville area. Lake St Clair out of Bay City Michigan is shallow fishing for miles and miles, granite rockie bottom Weed beds,,,full of excellent smallie and good for small boats as I used to fish it quite a bit as well as walleye but there again the radical governor of Michigan. May keep the travel restriction. Friend of mine has been catching nice smallies up to 3 lbs on square Bill crankbaits launch at Shoals, In,,,East fork of the White River till these last rains muddied it alittle..needs to clear up to get good again Before they spawn. Fish upstream above Shoals. I just turned him on to PICO Lures square bills to where he bought 160.00 bucks worth for smallmouth fishing. Good luck.

There are many good lakes in Kentucky and the COVID 19 infection rate is very low.
