Default Mississinewa is a muddy mess

Went to Hogsback area Friday; water was about 46* and very muddy. Water was a little high and somewhat swift but plenty of bank to fish from. Not a bite . Saw others come and go without any luck. Temps are almost there for white bass, then came 2" of rain Saturday and water raise about 6' . Hope it comes down and clears up before the water gets to warm or it will a lake only bite this year.

On a side note, are they ever going to open that little bridge on the east side of Hogsback ? The one that fell in/ washed out back in 2017. It looks done but road still closed and there is still a pile of gravel blocking it. I mean it's been 3 years now, kind of a pain to go around it. Anyone got any info on what's up with it ? -Thanks

River is already back down. Lake is at 730 and dropping. Had a buddy go up a little east of 13 this morning and he didnt get a bite. I havent been up that way yet but man im ready for it to start. Lots of 60s in the forecast should pick up any day id think. I fished the resi saturday before the rain and caught a lot of dinks. Got a tip it was hot below spillway so went there on way back and did pretty good.

Ya, getting better each day, hopefully mid week the run will kick in. I also heard the spillway bite was good, but I'll wait for the river. Spillway can be a test on my nerves and patience when it gets crowded lol .

I dont care for the spillway either but i knew it was just my buddy and one other guy there so wasnt bad. Had to wade a little to get to the fish they were laying over that little island in the cove. Water is up more there now and bite has been off last couple days from what i heard. Crowd muggt not be as bad this year since you have to park and walk a good ways to fish there since they closed the main road. I am ready for the run upriver to start though...always a blast when ya locate a good school of em.

I have read that people are fishing below the dam at mississinea this is what the DNR told me The property the USACE manages has been closed to public. The fishing area at the tailwaters/spillway/outflow/below the dam is closed to the public at all USACE properties in the Louisville District, including Mississinewa, Salamonie and Roush. People may fish on the DNR managed / lake side of the dam.

Did anybody get a boat on Mississinewa today? How was the water color? I am suppose to meet my brother from Noblesville in the morning somewhere. Missy is about 1/2 way for us. Or we sometimes meet in Warsaw or I make the drive and we hit Morse Reservoir on the north side of Noblesville. Since I live in Elkhart county, for me to drive all the way south is a hike. If anybody has some info from today about the water color and how successful they were, I would really appreciate it to help us make a decision. Thanks

I was over there today with a buddy. Tried spillway first and its just solid mud. No fish. Left and went almost to marion to check the river and its still pretty brown. Didnt even fish it. The lake is solid mud too.
