    Default John Hays Lake Question

Has anyone been to John Hays? Was wonder what kind of shape the road was in and if the water was up over the road near the ramp. Saw the work on the dam and if we would be still be coming down the hill? Thanks for any info.

I was there on Monday and the road was fine, well it was normal. It looks like they are keeping the water a little higher this year though. The first couple parking spots by the ramp were under water. I’m afraid this couple of inches of water we are getting might be enough to blow it out though. They were biting ok on Monday. Casting hugs and spider rigging.

Are you asking about Rinker's Creek on the east side of the lake?

Yeah, I've been able to go pretty far back in high spring water.

I can’t say for sure cause I fish the other side but if I had to guess I would say it’s not that high yet. But stay tuned.

Thanks guys for the help and info. I was able to check the lake last week did they put the concrete barriers to help guide you where to launch. I wish they would raise the road a bit where the water covers the road when it gets way up. What was the point of all the work at the dam? Again thanks.
