Thread: Raccoon 8/23

Got out on lake at 4:00 or a bit later off lake at 7:53, caught 42 with biggest maybe 11 inches with 4/5 10.5 inches rest 8-9 inches.. fish were hitting good probably missed at least that many more and hooked/lost at least 20 more..hard to feel strikes in the wind and the waves created by 40 mph ski boats and jet skis.
All fish were caught on weedless 1/32 to 1/16 oz jigs with little water melon shad bodies plus a few on tiny black/grey minnow bodies. Caught some 12 ft of water 2 ft of bottom and some in 11 ft of water about 5 ft down.
No pictures was just unhooking them and pitching them back in, still have a freezer full of crappie from last year.
Forgot water temp was 81.6 deg in most areas, down 5 deg from when we went last time.

I think after this week fishing is going to really pick up, water will cool down a bunch more with temps getting in the 50`s about every night..
