    Default Couple stinking bass.

Fished a borrow pit in the river bottoms that floods when the river gets big. It’s about 18’ deep at the deepest and mostly 10 to 12’ for over a mile long. Tons of lay downs to fish so Got 4 dozen minnows and fished all depths in the wood. Managed one keeper 12” crappie and a few keeper bluegill. Unexpectedly caught a couple healthy bass. They drug the canoe around and tried to get into cover till I could wear them out with a 10’ BnM Sam Heaton Super Sensitive rod, as much as I hate to admit it they were big fun and will make a good sandwich. Burnt up my trolling motor on my big boat so have been canoe fishing for most of the summer. Waiting and thinking about getting a Garmin Force to replace it. Wind was tough in canoe but had a great evening.Name: IMG_0521.jpg

Couple of nice fat greenies. They gotta eat too. They are a lot of fun to catch on light tackle for sure.
Thanks for sharing your day with the rest of us.
