Catching some when I can get on the water. It was rough before they finally raised the ramps. Mainly working the old log jams and submerged beaver dens.
I know this is an old thread, but Im hoping someone has been to patoka recently and can share some insight on the Crappie fishing. Love the lake, but like so many others I cant find decent fish. I now fish Taylorsville and especially Green River Lake, longer drive but Green is a really nice lake
You will find fish at Patoka but will have to cull any possible keepers after catching tons of dinks. That’s the reports I been hearing and the reports are far and few. Best I can comment for you.
Was there a couple weeks ago fished up at walls around trees near channel caught probly 75 only 5 keepers

What was you using? I always liked running that part of the creek channel bouncing cranks off the timber catching crappies. Early spring,,longlining jigs and off the points above Walls in the standing timber.
75 for 5 sounds about par for the crappie at Patoka. Somebody pitching a brush hog will nab a 3 lber soon like always

It’s a dang shame as we need the weed growth back in Patoka for the crappie fishing to improve. :twocents
