Cool Potato Creek 02jul19 : pulling cranks in the heat

I'm off work all week and was gonna go camping with the wife but we nixed that on account of the heat. So, I decided
to go out to Worster and pull some crank-baits around and try and get a few.

The creek channel runs thru the narrow region at Worster near the fishing pier. I caught all my fish in that area. As a software/electronics
engineer I'm amazed at the images I get from my Helix 7. You can see bait balls and suspended fish. In certain areas a clear thermocline
    was indicated as well.

That wiper was a friggen blast. I had four lines out, um I mean 3, and was reeling in one to check for weeds. When the flicker shad almost broke surface,
I saw a flash of silver and saw the wiper eat the lure. Very Cool. I felt like I was on wicked tuna, but I didn't hear no sonar fish alarm beeps.
Since I had three other lines out 80 feet or so back I had to keep forward momentum to keep the lines from tangling. I hooked up with that fish
on a 14 foot bnm trolling rod with 4lb test line. The drag on that little Abu just whizzed. It took about 5 minutes to net him into the boat. That fish was a freight train.

I included a pic of my rig, her name is SWAMPY III, she suits my needs. I've taken this boat on Sally, Missy and Cagles and never felt unsafe.
I just have to pick what ramp I wanna launch at so I don't spend too much time motor boating to a spot (only 6HP MERC).

I also imported a new topo into my home-brewed GPS nav computer. This device is built around a raspberry pi single board computer.

I also finally got to use my new fish cleaning station that my son got me for fathers day.

I suppose, but when you go for the day it doesn't seem that far.
