Cool This lake is a mystery to me ...

I went out on Worster again today and caught a few gills and a few perch that would barely make the pan stink.
I almost let them all go but I prefer the taste of gills over crappie. I tried everything for crappies and didn't catch a single one.

I just can't figure this lake out during this time of year.

In the first couple weeks of June I have caught bucket loads of 9-11" black crappie near the shore in the sticks,
but this time of year with the water temp in low 50's I just cannot find them. Anybody else fish PC for pan fish?

I think I'm going to try Sally next Saturday. I know the lake level, but what about the water clarity?

The water temp was 52-58 and the pressure was 29.99 inHg most of the day.
High blue skys most of the day.

    Best Regards:
    Chris

I have been finding crappie in 10-14' of water, but I'm not catching them either at that depth. Gonna head to Mississinewa on Wednesday to give it a try. I'm like you, hope the water is not too messed up. Have never fished PC, but someday hope to give it a try.

Low 50's I'm looking at pre spawn... Fish will move close to spawning areas in mid depth ranges and suspend with the sun warming the water. I stacked the freezer up on big females all late march and early April with those water temps catching fish in 15' of water suspending around 6' to 8'. Perfect time to pull jigs.
