    Default Crazy weather

Last weekend I was ice fishing, now back to open water with more rain. I'm thinking about rigging my boat with ice fishing gear and pulling it out on a sled. Can't wait for better stable conditions.

That's my plan. Heading south in a couple of weeks and then hoping on my return will find soft water in the middle to southern part of the state. This weather is normal, but to me it is crazy to be stuck in the cold.

I’m going to keep an eye both south and west, might make a weekend trip soon.

Flooding everywhere around me. Rivers still coming up, Monroe is way heck up,and so is all other lakes in central and southern Indiana and still coming up. The Cat has parking lot at Cunot under water. Predicted to get 2-3 inches of more rain by Tus nite, then more rain Thursday and Friday. It’s already ugly and going to take a lot of time to get these lakes lowered and your going to be fishing muddy water.

I’m going to mark all the trees in my yard on my GPS for future hot spots, this rain is relentless.

I seen they were still ice fishing over in Illinois. Would not have thought it was that much colder there

Living in northern Indiana, we have a zillion lakes that aren't affected to much by a lot of rain. I just prefer to fish the reservoirs, since that is where I have the most experience. May have to start on the St. Joe river in Elkhart, above the dam. I don't have much experience there, but won't get it if I don't put in the time. Come on spring!!

This is about the same time it started last year, then we didn't have a fishable spring until May. Fingers crossed that's not where we're headed.
