Default Watch out for Duck Hunters

Tis the season for Duck Hunting as I finally after a couple of months got on the water Sat. and even on Lemon, they have Duck Hunters so be careful if you see a spread of decoys as there was a bit of shooting around me. I had done a couple of changes on the boat, added a transducer on the back, wanted to check out electronics and such so I cranked for while adjusting them as the waves built to white caps, Didn’t catch a thing as later in the morning, figured I was running too deep, Changed out rods and long lined jigs in 6 to 10’ of water and picked up half dozen dink’s not worth a pic. Wind was rocking so packed up and when I got back to launch, everybody else was gone as I never did see anybody catch anything spider rigging as they moved here and there. Water temp was 55. Seen plenty of bait balls and fish and ran thru them but no takers. Glad to get out. Got my boat check up done and will probably winterize the boat as it’s time to hunt. Duck Hunters did quite a bit of shooting till about 10 am so take care.

Looks like I picked a good weekend off. Just pulled in the drive from the most boring drive in the world. Southern IN to Missouri. But watched my cats pull off another SEC win. Thought about heading out this afternoon, bur wind is howling. Have jigs to tie anyway. I'm all over it next weekend.

Good advice on fishing areas with duch hunters present. Applies to members in most states. Thx.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

I was fishing down the way from some last week. I didn't realize the flock of ducks were not real in the dim dawn light. lol I realized it when mr genes was checking my license. I caught a few more then moved around the bend. would have been a horrendous hook set if they would have unloaded on some at 50rds away. lol

I found a pellet in a fillet a few years back. I assume it came from a duck hunter water blasting. no sign of it on the outside of the fish.
