    Cool Can October be productive?

On the central IN lakes (Sally, Missy, Cat etc...) is the bite for crappie
still going to be productive during the month of October? I'd like to get out on the water during the cooler
months a few more times to see the colors and such and maybe put some more fillets in the freezer.

Would the summer patterns still be effective? This is the first year that I've fished central Indiana lakes
so I don't really know what to expect. Any recommended techniques or presentations from you gurus?

    Regards Chris

Can't speak for those waters, I don't travel north that often. But I do fish up that way. The fish will bite until you can't get a boat in due to ice. I'm just now getting ready to seriously crappie fish. October thru Feb is hands down, the best fishing in my opinion. They are ready to eat and they don't move.. Limit after limit...only ice gets in the way.

crappies are like oysters, months with r in them. lol

jig n plastics all u need most days. check wood along channel edges, especial ones close to shore. get rite in there and jig slow2-12ft (most days i find them 2-6 in my waters). search far but fast. give them 5min and move on. you gota find some before you can catch some. remember where you caught some tor next time. you will find yourself developing a "mlkrun" of spots to un n gun, and your catch will increase in both size and numbers.
