Thread: Nyona under the bridge, anyone nigth fished there

I forgot to ask, in the summer does the launch light stay on all night or shut off before midnight like in the winter.

Not my area either, but with the huge variety of lights (especially LED's) you should be able to upgrade for a price that fits your wallet. Good luck, stay safe, and congratulations on retirement.

even those cheap solar LED spot lights for the yard wold work fine. hang it over the side of the boat, or on cane pole in a rod holder shining into the water. we just used a lantern on a hook in the ore lock when i was a kid. im convinced you dont need much light. its more of a location thing. the light just enhances the activity after a while by invigorating the school of bait it draws. if you a early bird try it 3 hours before sunup instead. lots of lakes have that bite window going on also. at ddark, around midnight, and before and after dawn have proven to be hot times over the years. experiment with glow jigs/hooks too. they will out fish plain hooks on some nights by a large margin. so will jiggin raps and roadrunners.

i looked at your lake and think your in a good area by the bridge. the ramp side looks best from the map. really hard to say from just topo map though. lots of factors influence their movements. use those electronics to find the most marks suspended over deeper water before dark. set up and fish several nights to make a judgement. if you can draw a bunch of bait in short order you are most likely going to have a good night.

Anyone that knows me they know I'm cheap, if I can DIY I will. Made these 2 lights for $9.99. The 16ft strip light was the only real cost, the bottles where 50cent drinks from wallyworld the wife drinks and I had the silicone. Just made them so have yet to soldier wires yet or add weight.
