Better watch it, she's going to out-catch you. We are probably going to start hearing from her, telling us how she out fished you AGAIN. I tried my sister's kayak once, sure didn't like it. I like being a lot higher with a little more power.
I had Friday off work this week, my wife who works nights got put on call Thursday and never got called in. So we got up friday morning to head to the water. Now shes never been in a kayak before, nor caught a crappie. I had to change that. Especially since I bought her a kayak last week...
We got off to a late start after dropping the kid off, going to get her a new rod and reel, and getting to the bait shop it mustve been at least 0830 or 0900 before we launched.
I took her to one of my better crappie holes and set her off with a couple dozen minners, and a quick lesson on slip floats. Set her float to 10' or so and off she went. Not big numbers, nor size (this lake is full of eaters not slabs) but she was on fish within 10 minutes. She ended up with 3 or 4 crappie on the stringer and 1 rock bass she had a bad foul hook that just wouldn't swim away. She caught several LMB and rock bass, but most importantly her 1st, 2nd, and 3rd crappie ever. I think I ended the day with 10 or 12 on my stringer before pulling off the water around 1130 or so.
Was a great day we got to spend together. She had an absolute blast, and got a better glimpse into this obsession that controls her husband so badly. Lol. Not many pics bc she doesn't want me posting her pics online .
She'll skin me for this one but her first crappie ever \/

Hell her and the kiddo both do when I take em all bluegill fiahing. Lol. Hows the new boat treating ya?
It's good. Going to Monroe tomorrow by myself (unusual). I usually have the Grandsons with me. Having the bigger boat means I can go to larger lakes and don't have to worry as much about getting swamped. I did get my largest Largemouth ever on Monroe a few weeks ago. That made the new boat worth it.

@Chance: well congrats on the LMB. Glad its paying off. Judging by you're posts I'd say the smiles from those young men it's been worth it just from that. Ain't seen or heard much from the hairy daughter tho lately. I assume on account of the heat? Idk if your offer still stands with the newer boat as did the yacht but I'm still gonna try to take ya up on it at some point lol
