    Default Dogwood 4/20

Got the old boat out on Dogwood. Like it on the stump filled place. Only 5 boat trailers parked at 1230 on a Friday is not a good sign. Found water clear and 58. It would have been easier to find a food truck in Amish country than get a crappie or gill bite. We did boat three small bass, lots of them there. Pressure at 30.44 and bluebird skies makes a better golfing day. Wife called and offered to buy me dinner so we went to ramp. Between chasing fish and farm chores, we haven't had much awake time together and at my advanced age nothing gets my attention like good food or a fishing report.

I used to catch a lot of gills and red ears on Dogwood a few years ago. It’s a toughie any more.

Dogwood used to have some really nice bluegill and big redears. I remember catching big, dark colored bluegills in 15-20ft of water out in the stump fields across from the main put in. We would catch lots of redear in an arm on the lower end of the lake.

We went faithfully for years and then the fishing got bad around 2010. I haven't been there since.
