    Default Laughery Creek access

I fish the KY side of the Ohio River a lot but wanted to explore Laughery Creek this year at least once. I fished Hogan's last year. My father in law grew up in Aurora so it's neat to fish these areas he fished as a kid.

I wanted to know if the only ramp access for Laughery is way up stream at the ford, or if you can pay and launch near the river? I'll just be exploring anyway so I don't know where the best fishing spots are, but I thought putting in at the river might at least give me the advantage of crossing the river to Woolper on the KY side. I have a fairly small boat so I need to put in fairly close to where I'm fishing.

    Thanks,
    mbk

Hogans creek and Wilson creek have ramps in them as does Tanners creek, that one is public, others were private, when I lived there, there is a small marina in Laughery not sure about a ramp though

Tanner's ramp is down near the river. Plenty of parking too.

    Hi all -

I'm resurrecting my thread from a year ago. I was asking about Laughery. I never made it down last year but would like to this fall. The marina at the river doesn't allow private launching. I was thinking of venturing up all the way to Hartford Ford which is 7 miles up creek from the river. Just curious if anyone has ever put in there and fished for crappie in that section? Not sure on water depth, etc.

    Thanks,
    mbk

Thanks for the feedback. Shouldn't be a problem with the boat as I won't be alone. I'm curious to how the area that far upstream does for crappie. I'll post results if I go.

    Thanks Tbone.

Yeah. I was referring to the ford way upstream. My idea was to put in there and fish a couple miles downstream toward the river (but still way upstream from the Ohio River). I didn't know how the crappie would be up that far.

I may try to put in at Tanners or Hogans. But my engine is not that big. It would take a while. I'll give it some thought.
