    Default Hard Water is On

Lake froze over last night here. They are calling for 15 below zero actual temp Sunday night. Ice should be plenty good..LOL!!! I haven't been on the ice in a couple of years due to surgery and health. Just moved to this lake this past spring and got a few nice ones this fall. The locals are telling me that there is good crappie ice fishing right out in front of my place. That would be nice! Just tried my Carhartts and other gear on to make sure they still fit...!

    Can't wait!

Be sure to check the depth of ice before you go trampling across it! No crappies are worth frozen hypothermia

I hate to screw up bourbon by mixing it with ice. But a little bourbon when I am ON the ice works!

Bout the only way you'd get me out there, lol........Jokes aside, it doesn't get thick enough down here to fish on, so keep it up that way so I can have open water.

Thanks. Just went out and drilled a few holes...about 3 inches thick. Think I'll get some minnows tomorrow and see how it goes.

Went out for a while yesterday and got totally skunked. I don't feel too bad because the guys near me got skunked too. But I did get all the rods and other gear in order for the next time.

Beats the alternative, the wind kept me home in the heat

Went out for a while this morning and caught a lot of dinks. Nothing bigger than 6 inches, but better than nothing. kept me entertained. Got pretty windy so I left. I see guys are putting their shelters up out there right now. I think I'll walk out later to snoop around.
