    Default This Weekend

Wanting to get out Sunday. Anybody know the conditions at Missy or Sally. I see Missy is up about 5', never been on either lake when it's at winter pool, I'm sure I could launch at Red Bridge but would prefer another ramp. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Missy was just stained today but by Sunday it may be mud. I'm going over again tomorrow so will see what it's like. Fish were biting today too.

I tried around Hogsback yesterday, water was muddy, not stained like before rain. The water was up with fast current and was at 47*-48*. Lake by dam was looking pretty muddy too. Wasn't out long, but no fish. Water needs to clear up, drop down , and warm up. I did see some guys at the spillway as I drove over the dam, not sure if they were having any luck.

I drove over dam early yesterday morning and thought it looked muddy too so went up by red bridge and it wasn't too bad there. Caught fish there up tight to the cliffs, lost several nice ones trying to get them up the damn wall. I need a long net. On way back home i stopped at my spot closer to the dam that i passed on fishing earlier just to check it out. Wasn't expecting much but was surprised to see the fish absolutely hammering my jigs. Almost as soon as it hit the water. Only had a half hour before dark so didn't get to fish too long. Getting ready to head back over now, it will probably be completely different today, thats how it's been so far this spring.

As i figured the lake is deffinitely muddier then yesterday. Didn't get any bites up by the dam. Went down toward red bridge and caught 6 or 7 little ones in the same spot as yesterday, lost a 13 or 14 incher trying to get it up that wall again. Caught a largemouth bass and one other keeper size crappie then it just totally shut off so i came home. Going to fish a pond instead the rest of the day. A lot of boats out there today, heard one guy said he had 2 fish. More rain coming tomorrow, as soon as the resi starts to clear up we get more rain. Been that way all spring im getting sick of it.

Thanks for the report, it's what I anticipated. Now I need to figure out whether to go to Missy or Racoon. I would anticipate similar conditions either location. It's just a matter what time I can head out & how far to haul the boat, just can't pass up an opportunity regardless of conditions.

I hear you colt, can't seem to get a break up river either, water level comes down but too muddy, starts to clear up then more rain. Chomping at the bit cause water temp is so close for the spring run on white bass . I am seeing lows in the mid 20's and highs in the mid 40's for next weekend, might be an early May run this year for fish and mushrooms.

I ran up to Sally yesterday for about an hour. Not a bite and it was muddy muddy muddy. 105 bridge. Few other people there don't think they were catching any either.
