I haven't been out in about a week and half. Last time I was at missy water temp was in the 50's, and rising. Usually fish spawn a little later there, because of the rapid water depth changes that happen in the spring.

I know last few years we've been catching fish with eggs well into late may.

Fished Missy yesterday afternoon. I'm certainly no expert but i would say it is just starting. Still catching some fish on the banks but was slower then what i was expecting with all the warm temps we have had. Caught a few males who were turning pretty dark, caught more females then males though. Had better luck with minnies again, did get a few on jigs. Grandfather went tonight though and said they did real well on jigs. I agree with Cubswin though, normally the entire month of May you will see spawning activity. I am hoping to get back out this weekend but they are calling for storms the next 4 days. That should screw everything up.

Took my 7 year old over this evening. Storm rolled through a half hour after we got there. Forecast called for a 10 percent chance of showers...ha what a joke. Fishing was slow until about an hour before dark, then it got pretty good with nice sized fish. Ended up keeping 12 fish, had one at 13 inches and 3 others at 12. Wish they would start hitting a bit earlier though. Still limited luck on jigs, took most of the fish on minnows. Not sure about everyone else but the spawn bite seems slow so far. Usually the banks are covered with aggressive males attacking any jig u can throw at em. Can't judge much from the spot i fished tonight because it's the same there all summer long. They bite there right before dark almost every night even when the spawn is done.

Fished the river today...I used jigs, dad used minnies. I caught a largemouth, smallmouth, white bass, and a drum. Dad caught one crappie. Yesterday I caught 2 small crappie, and a nice largemouth. I have not found the crappies yet...

Went back tonight to the same spot. Same results, but not quite as big of fish this time. Slow right up until about an hour before dark then it was pretty steady. Minnows again was the ticket. My grandfather used jigs the entire night and didn't catch a single fish.
