Waveland is a really good fishing lake. As far as the crappie there are concerned there is plenty of fish in the 8"-10" area while occasionally catching some 12". Be careful in the summer months as the main channel can be pretty narrow if you're not familiar with the lake, it also gets a Ton of boat traffic

I live just a few minutes from Lake Waveland and fish it all the time...Trevor is correct about everything he said about Lake Waveland...alot of the crappie averaging 6-10"....i did catch a few last year between 11-14"...Lake Waveland is excellent for bass and catfish..

Yep, A lot of tournaments too.

Waveland is not too shabby a lake for some gills and redear either. Best part about Waveland is due to it's size it's fairly easy to learn and even when it's busy most of the good fishing is well off the main vein. Ramp and parking are both nice as well

Also DNR patrols Waveland pretty frequently, they bounce back and forth between there and Raccoon. Mainly just doing routines, license, vest, throwable, last time I had them check my livewell also which I gotta say was a first on that lake but I don't mind it, good to keep everybody legal.

They have bass tournaments every Sunday I would get there early before daylight small parking lot fills up real fast. Waveland has a 9 inch limit on crappie, this lake is best fished mid-week weekends get real crazy
