Rattlers do eat good as I have eaten them..same for python if cooked right as we ate one in Nam. Past couple days, wife’s brother lives 15 miles east of us, he had 5 12” copperheads in his front porch,,killed them,,her nephew lives 20 miles from us east near Mitchell, IN,,killed a 3’ off his front porch. Due to cold mornings 20 degrees below normal temps,,I think the snakes are sunning themselves to get warm and reason they are so exposed. Soooo,,it’s not just me having issues. We are presently 15-20 degrees below normal and not going to warm up to normal temps for at least a week to 10 days.

FOR sure a dangerous nuisance, but almost relievingly, your experience has been your margin of control! I know...still a PITA! Continued vigilance & luck buddy, oh, good fish huntin' too![emoji846]

26 including 16 babies killed so far. Now have to get another 3.5 ft copperhead out of the garage today. Everybody in my county and adjoining Lawrence county is experiencing a year of infestation of copperheads for some reason. Crazy spring for sure.

I read this morning that the emerging Cicadas will have the Copperheads actively feeding.

Wife read the same thing. I have everything removed from garage except the fridge and freezer,,as this big dude is under them somewhere. Sprayed the garage down with snake repellant and doors open so don’t know if he got out yet or not. Everything alive dines on cicadas. I had to live trap a young raccoon that was setting the alarms off my security video cameras as he was feeding on cicadas around the house and near front porch and deck driving us nuts all nite long. Marshmellows got him in the have a heart trap and moved him 5 miles away.

Have you ever heard of crushing moth balls and putting them around your property line, its a old trick supposedly and the snakes supposedly dont like the smell and avoid the area and I dont know if it works or not but I can promise you every house I have owned even in town has had a trail of crushed moth balls surround the property. Just a though.

Mothballs don’t work.. I tried them before buying SerpentRepellant off Amazon made in Tx I think.
