LED's are the way to go They also use less power to operate. And when one LED goes out inside light housing you still have 5-6 still burning

LED's seem to work for several years now on my trailer, and please run a hard ground to every single light connection and save yourself ground troubles in the future!!! Several years ago I put LED's on my trailer and ran an extra wire for ground. I went a bit overboard and soldered every connection, but crimping a butt splice connector will do, I also used marine shrink wrap on every connection. I don't plan on having to work on my wiring for a long time!

LED is the way to go. They are very bright even in the day light so people can see the brake lights unlike the other type that sometimes are very hard to see in the day light.
My new boat didn't come with LED's but they will be on there soon.... I had them on my last two trailers and they worked perfect!

What vehicle are you using to tow your boat? I have a 2006 dodge and when I hooked it up to my trailer, right side of lights would not work on trailer. But if I hooked it up to different truck all trailer lights would work. Found out on newer dodges if you have a short, you may have to have your module reset for your tow package. Cost me 155 bucks. Take a meter and check voltage at your socket on the truck. Make sure you are getting 12 volts on the appropriate pins.

New LEDS and just worry about fishing again. Changed mine also and never looked back.
Keep them poles bent and the boat right side up! LOL
