Hey All
Put in at Whitley today around 7 am and ran up past the marina . We started fishing shallow areas with structure in 1 to 4 feet of water and the fish were there . We had 13 keepers in about an hour and a half . We left there and went to Coal Shaft . It was a rough ride but worth it went to a tree that I found last week and pulled 8 keepers out of it and was able to start culling fish . Went to some other spots to see if we could find some more good areas . We caught some more keepers from different places along with some shorts . We had 2 limits by 10:30 am . Water temps were 58 to 59 . Water color was stained . Best colors today were orange/chartruse , chartruse and red/chartruse 2 inch tubes on 1/16th ounce ball jigs painted chartruse . Left the lake at 11:30 am . Had to get back home and get ready to go to work . I'm going back Saturday !!!!!!! Hopefully it's not as winday as today .
See ya Kevin ><)))*>

crappie
I got tired of sitting in a tent blind for six hours a day and not seeing any turkeys, so I thought I would take a day off and walk the banks for crappie. I took 13 crappie today with five keepers. I had a 10.24, two 11.5, one 12.0 and one 12.25. All crappie were taken on an orange/chartreuse jig. I did have a thrill for a few seconds. I hooked a 3 lb. carp on a green/chartreuse jig and for a second or two I thought I had a huge crappie.

Fished in a small Crappie Tournament on Saturday out of Eagle Creek . We started at 7 am and ended at 2 pm . Ran up to Sullivan Marina area and there was allready a dozen boats up there . Went to one of the spots I had been catching fish and all I caught were shorts . This was not good . Earlier in the week it had been producing 12 and 13 inch fish . Left there and moved to another spot and caught a couple nice 11 inch fish and some shorts . We had to do this most of the day just move from spot to spot . We ended up with 16 keepers the 10 best weighed 7 lbs 11.4 ounces . Our big Crappie weighed 13.4 ounces . This was enough to give us 1st and Big Crappie . The crappie are still in 1 to 4 feet of water . We used chartruse and Orange/chartruse 2 inch tubes on 16th ounces ball jigs chartruse in color . My partner tried some other colors but my favorites worked best . Water temps. were from 51 to 56 degrees . I noticed in some areas the water had a rust brown tint to it . I didn't fish these areas at all . I've never seen water this color when it turned over . Hoping top get back out next week end .
See Ya Kevin ><)))*> :)

Got on the water today around 7am . Several boats on the water already . Ran up to Sullivan Marina and it was a tough bite . The water looked a bit dirtier than last week . I fished 8 spots and only had 1 keeper . Ran down to Coal Shaft . The water was much clearer here . I caught 5 keepers here all shallow . The deep fish would not bite for me . Went back up to S. M. and the same thing several shorts . Ran up the river a little ways and fished 5 spots . I caught 3 keepers in 1 spot and lost a nice 4th one . Went back towards Whitley boat ramp and fish laydowns and shallow brush and caught my limit fish at 12:25 pm . Water temps were 51 to 54 degrees Watr color was any where from muddy to stained . Jig colors are the same ones I use all the time , chartruse and orange/chartruse on 16th ounce jigs fished from 6 inches to 5 feet . Tried some other colors but they didn't work for me . Biggest fish today was 12 1/4 inch . I also caught a nice 11 inch black crappie also today . I won't be able to get back out until next Saturday . I have to work 3rd shift next week . If you use Whitley boat ramp the middle south lane on the ramp has oil all over it . VERY SLICK !!!!!!!!! Some people were have a tough time when they got into the oil .

Put in at Whitley at 6 am and ran up to Sullivan Marina . The water had cleared some from last week . Water temp was 49 . Very Windy !!!!!!!!!! MY first stop I caught 5 fish 3 keepers . Went to several other shallow spots and would catch one fish here and one there . I had 7 keepers total from Sullivan Marina area . Left there and went to Coal Shaft . On the way down there I got a bath . Took a big wave over the front of the boat . It didn't take to long to dry off with the 30 mph wind . Talked to Ranger 375 and he told me he had 1 keeper . Fished the better part of the east side of Coal Shaft and found one 3 x 3 area and caught 4 keepers there . Ran back to Sullivan Marina and couldn't even buy a fish . Fished several other areas and decided to try a real shallow area south of Slaughter House and finally caught 3 keepers in less than a foot of water . By this time my trolling batteries were getting low and it looked like rain . It seemed to me that after 9:30 or so the bite was over . I had a buddy fishing with me today and all he would use was minnows . I don't think he caught over 5 fish all day . None were keepers . Only colors I threw today was chartruse and orange/chartruse 2 inch tubes on 1/16th ounce ball jigs . The fish were shallow 1 to 4 feet deep .Tried some deep areas with no luck . I'm wanting to go back some time this week not sure what day . Hopefully the wind will die down some . Get out and enjoy the nice November weather it can't last to much longer .
See Ya Kevin ><)))*>
