    Default Lake Shelbyville

My son's birthday falls on Memorial weekend. So for the last 3 years we have left for the long weekend & went fishing somewhere. This year he turns 10 & we picked to go back to Shelbyville.
We were there a couple years ago in the fall but it rained hard everyday we were there so we didn't even get the boat out so we have never fished the lake. We will be going out of lithia springs marina. If anyone could give some pointers not asking for any ones hot spots. Just like to stay close in that area of marina if possible since it will be busy weekend for boat traffic. We usually go out early morning then go in & go back out in evening.

    Thanks for any help !!

I would try any standing timber or laydowns. There is also dozens of artificial structures all around where you will be that hold fish most of the time. Look here: St. Louis District > Missions > Recreation > Lake Shelbyville > Recreation > Fish Attractor Maps
A person should learn something new every day!

We have a guide for 1 day. Should be a fun time with 2 -10 yr Olds. Hopefully the weather is decent & he can put us on some fish. I'm sure my son & his buddy will have a contest on who can catch the biggest & the most.

There is a lot of good fishing right in that area without firing up the big motor.

The boys had a blast !! We did catch some fish. We used tight lines guide service. I highly recommend him. He is a good guy & good with the kids. Thanks for asking.
