Thread: taking kids fishing

Going to take the grandson and one of his friends fishing May19 they are 13 going on 14 have been to Heidiecke 4 times with little luck, Heidiecke is 20 minutes away could go to Shabbona which is an hour away or clinton which is 21/2 hrs away anybody have any recommendations where to take a couple of youngsters and put them on fish? Only a day trip so dont want to spend to much time on the road.

All good options. I wouldn't overlook the Illinois River. The Asian Carp could make for a fun day watching the kids bob and weave out of the way. lol
On the plus side, the river fish populations and size have increased since the Asian Carp have moved in.
