Default State Making HP Restriction changes!

I was on Banner Marsh today and the state has posted a new HP restriction sign.
Banner has been 25hp limit forever and a day. The state made changes and this year Banner is now unlimited HP, however anything over 25hp is no wake. Picture below was from 4.30 this morning. Prepping for a tournament.

Check your local lakes and see if they made similar changes. Post up if they did.

That would be great for Banner. Most people think no wake is going slow, which usually means maximum wake. With a big v-bottom boat, we can get those high strip mine banks worn down in no time! Makes for a smoother transition from shallow to deep. If they change Evergreen the same way, I'll be happy. I would like to upgrade my 25hp 4 stroke to a 75 for fishing the river. So would a lot of people I am sure. I noticed the same signage at Spring Lake 2 weeks ago fishing for ice out crappie(caught a few nice ones).

I have a 75hp and am trolling motor only on most of the lakes around me due to the hp restrictions. Banner, Spring, Evergreen, Sangchris, etc. Dawson is 10hp limit, however over 10hp is no wake only. Dawson has been that way for a long time and it works great. Good to know about Spring lake making the change too.

Evergreen is County Owned and Managed, so the change would be up to the county. It would be great if it changed too. I about kill my trolling motor batteries every time I go out on Evergreen.

Around here the DNR checks model numbers to verify it's a 9.9. Don't get caught.

Was this someone's idea of an April Fools Joke? I doubt the state put up a sign that was written with a magic marker.

It's legitimate. President of our club confirmed it with IDNR. I agree the sign is a little hokey, but the policy has been changed.
