Yes, well we are talking Banner Marsh, they are not much of a class operation. They did do some road work last year but roads are barely passable after a rain, docks falling apart, little shoreline access, honeysuckle overtaking the entire area but I do love the place.

Is Newton Lake on that list.

IDNR controls the number of boats on the water by controlling the number of parking spots. They are not adding parking. Shabbona Lake by Dekalb has changed too. That should mean less people from Chi-Town will make the trip south. Evergreen got pounded hard during the pandemic. It was the only lake open and it was packed. Evergreen is a relatively short drive from Chi-Town by Chicago drive time standards.

I guess that is sort of my point. The available parking is now open to a wider much wider group of boaters. I drive an hour to turn around and go home.

Bloomington Lake is across I-39 and a good fishery.

Doubt it.

Evergreen is county controlled.

Not sure about Lake Bloomington.

Same watershed, but not sure of jurisdiction.



Some state lakes have been changed.

They grew tired of all the calls about infractions and with insufficient manpower to enforce the 10hp rules, they decided on the no wake change.

I fished Lake Bloomington for about 20 years. Have not been there for about 15 years. Due to current health issues I am only fishing from my 12 ft jon with only a trolling motor. No way am I going to get liability insurance on a 20 year old $500 boat just to get access to the lake. I am not trying to seem difficult but the requirements are a bit much for my situation.
