Default Gridley and Drake lakes (jim edgar's panther creek)

The IDNR website does not say there is a crappie population in these lakes of any sort, but ive caught many a crappie out of both of these lakes anyone know why the IDNR doesn't state the populations or anything about crappie in general? these are my local lakes, and I'm just worried about the population particularly drakes crappie. There is no limit on size or numbers of crappie either and everyone aint a sporty fisherman

I talked to a CPO there about 10 years ago and he said the IDNR did not stock them and does not want them in any of those lakes. I have also read that in past IDNR reports on the lakes. That being said, I used to catch a lot of 2# crappie in Prairie Lake again about 7 to 10 years ago. Can't seem to find them now. All I caught in Gridley and Drake were dinks and not many of those. What a shame, beautiful park and seems to be well managed.
