I think the fish population has been depleted by eagles, peregrine falcons, and really fast bass boats. I remember reading that report somewhere
That is weird for sure though!

Skunked for the first time in a long time, not even a bite. Looked shallow, looked deep, no dice.
All my old reliable brushpiles / laydowns were completely barren of fish, to the point that I was starting to wonder if something was wrong with my fishfinder. If anybody has any hints on where they went, I would love to hear it.

I was wondering if the crappie fishing went way down hill at mill creek this spring. I’ve had really good luck their the last 3-4 years. I couldn’t get them to hardly bite from March thru may. Best day with 2 of us was 14 keepers. Also the quality seemed down. Was wondering if others noticed this or if it was just me? I love the lake a lot but it sure took a toll on my pride & pocketbook. Ramp fees are outrageous & im willing to pay, but not if the fishing continues the way it did for me. Maybe I just need to become better at crappie fishing.

Crappie on Mill Creek have been really hot and cold this year. I've been blaming the weather this spring, spawn was at least 3 weeks later than usual.
The week before that April snow I had one of my best days ever there. My pb is 15 inches, and that day I got two 15 inchers and four 14s in about an hour and a half.
Maybe I just hit all the cold days. I was there about 7 times. That was a heck of day you had with all those big ones. Congrats on a day like that! My pb came from there 4 yrs ago. 16.5 inches & fat as could be. It’s on the wall now. I didn’t weigh it & I wish I would of.

Take the thirty dollar ramp fee and put it in your gas tank and just go to shelbeyville

I go to shelbyville just as much as mill creek. I like changing it up and not going to the same lake every time out. It’s kinda like I don’t hunt the same tree stand every time I go out. Multiple stand locations on private & public

Remember all bodies of water cycle up and down. A couple of poor spawns in a row really hurts the catch rate. Might talk to the local biologist. Somebody has that lake.
I catch em at mill creek I just go by what I’ve been getting out truth be told if your from the area Paris is putting out better fish in my opinion

I don’t know anything about Paris lake or anyone who’s fished it but I would try it sometime. I’m about 1 hour north of that area
