two or three, one in each hand or pole holders, was told by cusa tournament director you could use a third pole but you had to have your name and address on it.

Illinois has a 50 hook limit so you can use fifty rods with one hook but 48 would need a name and address label on them, but most lakes have site specific regulations, Shelbyville is listed as a 2 pole and line only site with no more than two hooks per pole

the il. regs. are confusing on shelbyville lake . one spot says 2 poles with 2 hooks but hard to tell if it's the lake or the ponds or both. my previous post was for carlyle lake not shelbyville. had to check my records at 79 my memory is vanishing.

I looked again and you are right it is confusing as I can tell there is no site specific regulation for lake Shelbyville therefore you can use more rods just remember after two you need a name and address on them

3 poles. One pole must have name and address. Same rules for rend and carlyle. They are federal lakes. The 2 pole 2 hooks rule is for the outlying ponds.

3 poles on Shelbyville. One needs tagged name and address even thought i don't think they would ask. The people that say 2 poles don't know what they are talking about. Ive fished 3 poles for 7 years on the ville and never had any trouble.
