I fished Clinton a few times now this summer during the day and afternoon/evening bite. Caught fish mostly largemouth but very few crappie and No whites or hybrids!! Have been all over that lake trying different strategies at different times and really nothing to put in freezer. My 2 cents for you Hanr would be go to shelbyville cause it's on fire right now!! The problem is on the weekends w/pleasure boaters go during the week or the evening bite you'll definitely be happier at the ramp, parking lot, etc.

You guys think the Illinois forum is slow info, look at the Iowa forum. Takes less than two seconds. You folks do pretty good I think.

if you go to clinton fish brush 12'to16' keep moving from brush pile to brush pile until you find some, they were bunched up .had to fish ten favorite brush piles before finding some today., very light bite ,some were just holding on ,no bump at all .set the hook on a 100 blue gills but only caught a few. minnows might work better. used jigs 1/16 white and char.

    Quick update.
Today was the first I got on the water. No fish to report. Spent most of the morning scouting new terrain. Learned a few things about the terrain below the wet surface. Got the fishing. Then we hear thunder rolling in. If I want to get the misses back on the water I best make sure she don't get wet. Fired up the 40rude and headed for Mascoutin. Long haul from the other side of the dam..
Rounded the shallow islands and some strange noise coming from the motor. I back off and it sounds like someone threw bearings in the lower unit. Crap! Thunderstorms getting closer and I can see the rain falling by the dam. Idled back to the ramp, cranked the boat on the trailer and it starts. Slowly at first. Managed to get back to the camper and all he'll broke loose.
Order a new set of gears. Should be in on Tuesday.
Looks like the rest of the week is TM only.
